AUSTIN CHILDREN’S GARDEN 
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

ALL TEACHERS, FAMILIES, CHILDREN AND THEIR HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS MUST CONDUCT A DAILY HEALTH CHECK BEFORE COMING TO ACG.
Please remain home and notify ACG if you or a household member have any of the following symptoms:
  • Fever of 100.4 F or higher, now or in the preceding 72 hours (or would have, but have used fever reducing medicine)
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Muscle aches
  • Difficulty breathing
  • New loss of taste or smell

Drop Off and Pickup:
  • Adults please wear a mask when you are not able to social distance at 6 feet.
  • The teachers all wear masks when they are within 6 feet of the children at ACG. Masks are optional for children.
  • Park on the street and wait your turn for the family before you to leave. You may directly block our driveway for drop off and pick up.
  • One of the teachers will walk your child up and down our driveway.
  • Only children and teachers are allowed past the driveway gate.

Screening and Sanitation:
  • Temperatures are taken of all teachers and children before they join the group. We have a hands-free thermometer.
  • Hands are washed with soap and water and dried with a disposable towel upon arrival and at departure.
  • Hands are washed and sanitized regularly throughout the program.
  • Children’s belongings are kept in separate sanitized boxes out of their reach.
  • All art supplies, blocks, toys, mats, playground equipment and anything the children come into contact with are sanitized regularly all throughout the day.
  • Our activities are outdoors unless there is severe weather or lightning. In this case, the group will go inside the schoolhouse with all windows open for optimal ventilation. We will also run a fresh air ventilation fan. If it looks like there will be severe weather causing us to need to be indoors most of the day we may need to close ACG for the day for the highest safety standards.

COVID-19 Notifications:​
  • If you, a loved one, or household member has been diagnosed with COVID-19, immediately alert ACG and stay home. 
  • Please follow the CDC’s recommendations if you’re unwell or if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • If you or a household member travels in an airplane, please provide a negative COVID-19 test result for your child or quarantine for 14 days before returning to ACG.
